CSL and Samoa.ws to launch innovative Zoom Wireless BroadbandZoom will revolutionise broadband internet in Samoa by offering consumers and businesses a greatly enhanced wireless broadband solution 9th May 2008, Apia, Samoa: Computer Services Limited (CSL), Samoa’s leading information and communications technology company, and its ISP Samoa.ws, today announced they will be launching their innovative Wimax-based wireless broadband solution over the coming week. To be branded Zoom, the super-speed wireless broadband solution will be the first of its kind in the country and further cements CSL’s market-leader position in the ICT industry.
The announcement of the Zoom launch follows on from statements issued in December by CSL and its subsidiary WSL of their plan to build Samoa’s first Wimax network. According to CSL CEO, Laeimau Oketevi Tanuvasa-Savea, ‘a huge investment has been made to bring this proven Wimax technology and Zoom to Samoa’. Laeimau further added that, ‘Zoom will revolutionise broadband internet in the country by offering consumers and businesses a greatly enhanced broadband wireless solution as well as much needed relief to businesses and homes located in unwired areas, where there is no internet access’.
After months of rigorous testing of the network, customer trials and intense technical training of Samoan staff conducted by international specialists, CSL is confident its high-speed Zoom wireless solution is exactly what the local market needs.
With the launch of Zoom, Samoa has its own modern next-generation internet service, consistent with those available in developed countries like NZ and Australia.
